As we prepare for the opening reception of the 2nd Annual SPACE event, finding the right judge(s) to choose the final winning images was of the utmost importance. We chose two judges with two different perspectives to review the exhibited work. One judge, Chris Kern from the greater Los Angeles area, Southern California, and Daniel Watson from NYC, East Coast.
They worked together to review the images and choose the final four winning images. See their bios below for more info relating to who they are and what they do.
Christopher Kern has been shooting and producing commercial photography projects since 2003. He holds an MFA in Photography from the prestegious Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. Along with his freelance photography work, he has been utilizing his MFA as a photo instructor since 2009. His work has been featured in the industry by; PDN, CMYK, IPA, and the APA. Photographically he is looking to create imagery that is – aspirational, yet attainable. While his commercial work has taken him all over the United States and Internationally, he calls California home. His true passion is for the people he encounters; either it be as a portrait subject, fellow creative, student or stranger.
Daniel Watson, a self-driven entrepreneur with fourteen years of experience within the creative and technology industries. His motto is that professionals in every field, especially creative design must be aware of the constant changes within a demanding industry to possess the flexibility and imagination to stay ahead of the trends. Daniel is founder and Editor in Chief of LIVID Magazine & Creative Director of LIVID Media. Also currently is an Advisory Board Member with Cazenovia College and Associate Lecturer at Mood Art in Verona Italy.
