Q: Is this an Official Houston Community College (HCC) blog?
A: No. Its not. This blog is independent of the college system, and all material presented on it is not supported by the school. This is a student managed, and student organized project.
Q: Do I have to be an HCC Digital Communication student studying digital photography to be able to submit images any of the exhibits?
A: No. You do not specifically have to be a digital Photography student to submit. But you do have to be currently enrolled in any of the Digital Communication classes to be able to submit and be considered.
Q: I use to be a student. I graduated from the Digital Communication program, can I still submit?
A: Yes you can. As long as you are a recent graduate, you’ve graduated within the past 12 months you can submit.
Q: How much does it contest to submit my work?
A: Nothing. Zero. Zilch. As long as you’re a current student, its free.
Q: When I submit images, Do I keep my rights to the images?
A: Yes, of course. We are not interested in taking your images, or owning them. All we care about is promoting student work, and helping students get exposure.
Q: I don’t know how to frame my work. Can I get help?
A: Yes. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will provide you with assistance.
Q: Can I sell my work while its on exhibit?
A: Yes you may sell your work, but we ask that your entered image(s) remain in the gallery until the exhibit is over.
Q: If I sell my work does SPACE keep a commission?
A: No we don’t. Simply, we are not playing any role in helping to sell your work. Any transactions between you and potential buyers are your responsibility, between you and the purchaser.
Q: I don’t know which category to submit my image(s) under?
A: Use your best judgement when choosing a category. We reserve the right to move image(s) to other categories when necessary. Please see our submission section for further category details. The work must be completely original and not utilize content owned by another copyright holder unless the entrant has been granted specific usage rights.
Q: Can I submit the same image into multiple categories?
A: No. You cannot. We reserve the right to delete duplicate images.
Q: How many images can I submit?
A: You can submit a total of five (5) images per category.
